This Original oil on canvas painting of the passenger-cargo ship SS Astraea was created by the artist known as W. Timm in 1899. The exact identity of W. Timm remains a mystery, but it is believed that he was a crew member aboard ship. She was built by Wigham Richardson & Co. at Newcastle, England for the Finland Steamship Co. Ltd.  She carried 22 1st Class passengers, 34 2nd class, and 186 third class (immigrants).  She was dismantled in 1936 at Sunderland England by the Thomas Young Co.  This stunning antique collectable measures 22.5″ x 27″ in wood frame.  We pack and ship worldwide…Please click photos below for better viewing…
