Vintage naval oil painting of the WWII USN Submarine USS Flasher SS-249. This highly decorate Gato-class submarine served in the Pacific during WWII. She received three Presidential Unit Citations and six battle stars. She sank 21 ships for a total of 100, 231 tons of Japanese shipping. She was built by the Electric Boat Co, at Groton Connecticut. Her conning tower can be seen to this day, it was preserved and used as a WWII memorial at Groton Ct. USA. Painting is very detailed and of naval museum quality. Measures 30″ x 36″ and the original frame is 35″ x 41″ …signed by the artist K.Pope.
