WW2 Era US Navy Ships Telescope

Behold, a 1940 dated 32 powered USN Bureau of Ships Telescope made by B&L Optic Co. MK I MOD N 305 and mounted on a custom tripod. A rare, collectable marine instrument in fully restored showroom condition. This type of “spotting” scope was originally mounted on one of the ships rails and kept stored below in a wooden box. It was compact and small enough to set up fast for spotting enemy ships on the horizon. I have seen them in old WW2 movies over the years and they are a very rare find. The scope itself measures 25.5 inches long with about a 4.75 inch diameter. The over height of the whole piece is around 62 inches tall and is a comfortable height for viewing.
